Browns Heifer Pellet are a high protein and energy ration that are ideal to feed calves from 3 months up until the transition phase. These pellets have been formulated to avoid digestive upsets through careful management of protein and energy sources. They are high in by-pass proteins to increase the amount of true protein available to the heifer to be used for growth and tissue development.
Browns Heifer Pellet contains Bovatec® which is used in the prevention of coccidiosis. Coccidiosis can severely reduce calf performance and delay efficient rumen development. Bovatec® also improves feed conversion efficiency by providing more energy to the rumen. Use when pasture conditions are inadequate to support growth of around .75kg per day. Recommended feed rate is
4-5kg/h/day. A young heifer needs nutrient concentrate of at least 17% CP, 13 MJ ME/kg DM to achieve target growth rates.
