Browns Heifer Pellets are high protein and energy ration that is ideal to feed calves from 4-6 months until joining. These Pellets have been formulated to avoid digestive upsets through careful management of protein and energy sources. They are high in by-pass proteins to increase the amount of true protein available to the heifer to be used for growth and tissue development.
These Pellets contain Bovatec, which is used in the prevention of coccidiosis. Coccidiosis can severely reduce calf performance and delay efficient rumen development. Bovatec also improves feed conversion efficiency by providing more energy to the rumen.
Use when pasture conditions are inadequate to support growth of around 0.75 kg per day. Recommended feed rate is 3-5 kg/h/day. A young heifer needs nutrient concentrate of at least 16% CP, 12 ME /kg DM to achieve target growth rates.
Always ensure that any wet pellets are removed & discarded and that you’re always providing adlib fibre, clean water and adequate shelter.
